# Our Mission

The principles and goals behind Flipper.

Flipper's mission is to make decentralized trading easier to access, understand, and manage.

DeFi gives users direct access to markets, but the trading process can require switching between wallets, networks, liquidity sources, and interfaces. Flipper aims to reduce this friction while giving users a clear view of their actions, balances, costs, and risks.

## <mark style="color:$primary;">Bring Market Access Together</mark>

Flipper connects users to supported liquidity and execution infrastructure through a single platform.

Flipper V1 approaches this through venue routing. Flipper V2 introduces multichain access to orderbook-based perpetual trading.

The goal is to make it easier to reach supported markets without requiring users to operate a different interface for each trading flow.

## <mark style="color:$primary;">Make Trading Understandable</mark>

Users should be able to understand:

* where their funds are;
* what an order will do;
* which costs may apply;
* how their position affects account margin;
* what can happen after an order is executed;
* how much is currently available to withdraw.

Clear distinctions between wallet funds, trading collateral, profit and loss, and withdrawable balance are essential to this experience.

Simpler onboarding should help users make informed decisions. It should not hide the risks associated with leverage, funding, liquidation, or external trading infrastructure.

## <mark style="color:$primary;">Preserve User Choice</mark>

Flipper is designed around wallet-based access and user-authorized actions.

Trading tools can help users review and execute their decisions, but users remain responsible for the positions and exposure they choose to take.

Availability may differ by product version, network, market, wallet, and account. Flipper documentation aims to explain those differences without implying that every feature works identically in every environment.
