# Wallets & Funds FAQ

<summary><mark style="color:$primary;">Do I need a wallet to trade on Flipper?</mark></summary>

You need a wallet to trade on Flipper, but it can be either an external Solana wallet or an embedded wallet created through social login.

The wallet is used to connect to the app, approve transactions, deposit or withdraw funds, and confirm trades.

Yes. Flipper supports social login through Privy.

Depending on the options enabled in the app, you may sign in using email or a supported social account. Privy can create an embedded wallet for users who do not want to connect an external wallet.

You retain control of your wallet and authorize important on-chain actions. Deposited collateral is held in Flipper's smart contract vaults and can be withdrawn subject to protocol rules, open-position requirements, and margin safety checks.

<summary><mark style="color:$primary;">Why do I need to sign transactions?</mark></summary>

You sign transactions to approve actions on-chain.

A signature confirms that you approve an on-chain action, such as depositing funds, withdrawing funds, granting an approval, opening a position, or closing a trade.

Never sign a transaction unless you understand what it is asking you to approve.
