# Smart Routing FAQ

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$primary;">What is Smart Routing?</mark></summary>

Smart Routing evaluates available execution paths and recommends the route expected to provide the best overall execution quality.

Instead of selecting a venue manually, users can allow Flipper to compare supported venues and propose an execution route before they confirm the trade.

Split Execution means a trade may be divided across multiple venues when doing so is expected to improve execution quality.

Users still view and manage one aggregated position in Flipper, while the underlying trade may be allocated across more than one venue.

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$primary;">How does Flipper choose the best route?</mark></summary>

Flipper compares the available routes for your selected market and order size.

It evaluates factors such as available liquidity, expected price, fees, funding, and estimated slippage, then recommends the route expected to provide the best overall result.

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$primary;">Can I choose the route manually?</mark></summary>

Yes. Flipper supports both Smart and Manual execution modes.

Smart Mode allows Flipper to recommend and select the route, subject to user approval. Manual Mode gives users more control over venue allocation.

Some routes may not be available for every market or collateral type.

<summary><mark style="color:$primary;">What is AI Savings?</mark></summary>

AI Savings is an estimate of the difference between the recommended Smart Route and less efficient available routes.

It is designed to show the potential execution benefit of Smart Routing.

AI Savings is not a guaranteed profit or guaranteed saving on every trade. It is an estimated execution improvement based on the available route options.
